There are only a few anchorages in the Marquesas with wide sandy beaches. At the western shore of Tahuata the bay Hanamoenoa is probably the most visited anchorages. Seldom we see less then 10 yachts here. No wonder, since the turquoise colored water in front of a white sandy beach, palm trees and green mountains are just what most people love. Additionaly this western bay provides good protection from the Pacific swell.
So we too spend a few nights in Hanamoenoa at anchor, enjoy swimming and meeting other cruisers.
