South Africa is an incredibly interesting country. Here, fantastic landscapes combine with a unique fauna and incredibly friendly people. There is an endless amount to discover in this country. At the same time, it is a land of contradictions and has one of the highest crime rates in the world. During our three-month visit to this melting pot of cultures in southern Africa, we were occasionally frustrated, mainly due to the unusually high crime levels for us, but much more often, we were absolutely fascinated by the unique beauty of the country. South Africa is definitely worth a visit.
Now, we have just under 500 nautical miles ahead of us to Lüderitz in Namibia, our next destination, and behind us, the Table Mountain and Lion´s Head slowly fade into the mist.
