When we first arrived, we were greeted by pleasant sunshine – cool, but calm. But now the weather has turned, and April is showing its true, unforgiving nature.

A raging low-pressure system is tearing across the British Isles, its core a menacing 965 hPa just north of Ireland. Right now, its violent front is sweeping over us – blasting winds, bursts of hail, and a sky in constant turmoil.

The warning signs were already there yesterday: in just 12 hours, the air pressure plummeted by a staggering 25 hPa – a dramatic signal of what was about to unfold.

A glance at the weather chart off the coast near Tramore, only about 30 km south of us, tells the story clearly: winds howling at force 7 to 10 Beaufort, waves with more than 4 meters crashing to the shore. Definitely not conditions you want to be caught in.

So we stay on board and adapt. Instead of battling the elements, we focus on life aboard the boat – tackling projects like installing a new warm air heating system.
