Trans-Ocean (TO) is a German cruising club and we are members. The club maintains a network of bases in lots of countries around the world. The Trans-Ocean base in Tonga is located on the island Fofoa (at the Blue Lagoon), here in the Vava´u Group. The base is set up and managed by Elke and Werner, a German couple, who stopped here first with there sailing vessel ANTAIA many years ago, did fall in love with Tonga and built later their house here on the island of Fofoa all by themselves. Since than many cruisers both TO members and not TO members visit them year by year.

It is beautiful here. We are sitting at a table in front of the house with coffee and cookies and chatting about almost everything. We are getting quite a few important hints for our cruising through Tonga and the passage to New Zealand. Elke and Werner are a very nice couple and it is a very pleasant afternoon. Tomorrow we want to visit them again.
