Herzlichen Glückwunsch Gabi

Fred & Maren Ziechmann

Rumma, Schweden

SuAn, landfall will soon be on your horizon. Enjoy the first whiff of earth and the pleasures of a passage complete. It is such a blissful feeling. Love you two explorers, Jill and BrentGZZWY

Can't Wait

Jilly & Dan (SV Dazzler)

La Cruz, Mexico

We are loving watching your crossing and seeing your posts. Looks like we'll be leaving next week...Thursday or so. Your blog has actually quieted my mother's (79 year old) fears. She's even embracing the fact that we are taking this journey now. Can't wait to see your first pics of the Marquesas and hear about it. The zipper is soon to be on its way to you. We will see you soon!

Happy Birthday!

Marlene + Bert

Oberndorf an der Oste

Liebe Gabi, herzliche Glückwünsche zu diesem besonderen Geburtstag. Der wievielte ist es eigentlich auf hoher See? Oder schafft Ihr den Landfall just in time? Egal, feiert tüchtig - in der großen blauen Zweisamkeit oder mit beiden Füßen auf festem Boden. Fair winds, Marlene + Bert SY Heimkehr

Happy Birthday Gabi!!

Michael and JoAnne Gray

Guemes Island Washington

Wow! It looks like you will make landfall on Gabi's Birthday! We have experienced the conflicted feelings of being exhilarated by the site of land and also the feeling of a little disappointment the passage is over. Lotsa Love!

Amazing photo!

Michael Gray

Dog Island

How did you get that shot on a moving/rolling boat? With a manual aperture and shutter speed setting? Amazing. We remember the stars looking so close as making it seem one could reach out and touch them.

Idyllic Sailing

Michael and JoAnne Gray

Guemes Island Washington

Idyllic conditions! You and SuAn are looking great! New Zealand is getting bad weather today with Cyclonic activity they have not had for approximately 25 year (or so we are told by our friends there). We got an offer on "Destiny" and have counter offered with something that we will accept...otherwise she remains our boat! :-) P.S. We also have trouble with the validation codes, never works the first time.

Äquator

Uwe Moser

Kornwestheim

Habt Ihr ein Glück, dass Ihr die grüne Linie sehen konntet, das ist nämlich nur sehr selten möglich und bei besonders günstigen Licht- und seegangsverhältnissen. Uns blieb dies selte Glück damals leider verwehrt! Grüße von den Momos

ITCZ

Cayuse

Punta de Mita

Hi SuAn, hey you guys are looking GOOD. Just FYI I have made many attempts to write but when I use the validation code it kicks me off. Let’s hope this works this time! Fair winds Lutz and Gabi. We are enjoying your posts!

ITCZ and the equator

Michael and JoAnne Gray

Guemes Island Washington

We hope your experience continues to be benign! Ours was OK as well as we were literally able to see squalls forming during the day and in most cases dodge them have proof on video...:-) the few we couldn't avoid were at night (in spite of seeing them on radar) and amounted for a bunch of excitement with gusty multi-directional winds at 30 knots plus that were over in a short time and didn't raise waves at all....we didn't bother reefing, just rolled in the jib after taking the spinnaker down in advance of them coming and not flying it at night. Not dangerous, just an inconvenience..hope your experience until is even more benign as you pass through to below the equator. Love the updates!!

The "Milk Run"

Michael and JoAnne Gray

Guemes Island Washington

Ahhh....now you know why it's called the "Milk Run", or at least your time now :-) The passage from Mexico to the Marquesas was our most wonderful ever, our first sight of land was Hakahau which appeared in the early morning mist our reaction was emotional, but also feeling a little chagrin that the passage was at an end. As you said, we felt we could have sailed forever. Hugs, MnJ

So good to know that you are sailing in ideal conditions and "relieved" after boisterous conditions and a safe encounter with a "big-fella" Lots of Love Dear Friends!
