| The Spire is situated in the middle of O’Connell Street and was constructed between 2002 and early 2003. It stands 120 metres tall, has a base diameter of about 3 metres and tapers to approximately 15 centimetres at the top. Made of stainless steel; the lowest ~10 metres are polished with abstract patterns. It includes tuned mass dampers inside to counteract swaying in strong winds. |
